Do you take payment plans?
We do take payment plans, a credit card is required. You may choose to have your credit card automatically charged at the applicable date listed below, or you may choose an alternative payment type, such as to bring in a check. A late fee of $100 will be charged for late payments after 5 days. $35 for returned check fees.
FALL
1st payment – 50% due at time of registration
2nd payment – balance due by October 5
SPRING
1st payment – 33% due at time of registration
2nd payment – due by February 15
3rd payment – balance due by April 1
What if we need to drop a class, do you issue refunds?
We want to be sure kids love their classes! To ensure continuity of kids and teachers in the class, we ask that you drop by September 15 for the Fall semester and by January 31 for the Spring semester. While we do not issue refunds, we are happy to trade one class for another or issue a credit for future use.
Is The REALM a school?
We are a place for learning that offers classes, tutoring, private lessons and camps in areas ranging widely across academic, artistic, and personal growth. For kids who come every day; they are either declared as homeschooled through a PSA or are enrolled in a non-brick and mortar Charter School.
Do all REALM teachers hold CA teaching credentials?
We believe we have some of the best teachers out there because they LOVE what they teach, they LOVE to learn and they see possibility and greatness in every kid. We do not require certification. We hire teachers who blow us away with the passion and knowledge they bring to their classes. They are - literally - people we want teaching our own kids. No credential can speak to those qualities with which we are most concerned.
How do I checkout the REALM?
Please come in and see what we do! Your child can always try out a class but we recommend trying at the beginning of a semester so that they are not trying to jump in mid-project! Our camps are also a great way for kids to step into the REALM. There they will meet our amazing staff and get a taste of limitless creativity!
Does the REALM give grades or transcripts?
We can provide families with a growth report upon request but we do not issue traditional grades or transcripts. The growth report is generated as a narrative from each teacher highlighting areas of growth, strength and support.
What if I miss a private lesson or tutoring session?
If you have signed up for private tutoring or private music lessons and you need to cancel, we do not issue a refund but if the instructor mutually agrees, we do honor make-up lessons. If the teacher or instructor needs to cancel, a refund or make-up will be issued. We ask for 14 days notice to cancel any private tutoring or music lessons sessions.
What if I am late for pickup?
We know life happens but we also want to ensure our teachers time is valued so we do charge a $20 late fee for kids not picked up within 10 minutes of the end of their class.
